More than 250 active volunteers come to NCMC to: Make new friends Develop new skills Gain hands-on experience to help with career studies Utilize life skills and experience to give something back to our community Volunteers ages 14-94 years, annually donate an average of 40,000 hours in about 60 departments throughout the hospital. Our Volunteers provide a wide variety of services. Volunteers enhance the customer service by: Visiting patients Offering Critical Care and Surgery Waiting family support Directing people from our Information Desk Raising money through gift shop sales Delivering mail and flowers Transporting guests in our courtesy golf cart Assisting in numerous hospital departments Playing the grand piano in the lobby or other musical instruments for patients and guests Greeting and assisting people coming for care Helping with fundraising events Giving hospital tours for children Assisting families with newborns
